The fruit was grown exclusively on “Caythorpe” situated in the heart of the Central Wairau Plains. The 2018 growing season was characterised by an early bud burst and remarkably warm summer. Two cane, vertical shoot positioned (VSP) Clone 110 vines were carefully managed with shoot and bunch thinning, along with a calculated level of leaf exposure to deliver low yielding, clean fruit with concentrated flavours.
A single small parcel was harvested March 28th; lightly pressed and fermented in chilled stainless steel with yeast designed to highlight aromatic characteristics. Bottled November 2018.
